Vist Valle de Guadalupe
๐ท I visited Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico, and hereโs what I learned...
A lot of Valle guides focus only on the wineries, but I found the magic comes from combining the coast, incredible seafood, and a carefully chosen wine experience.
๐๏ธ Day 1: Start on the Coast
๐ Las Gaviotas @las_gaviotasrentals
A gorgeous oceanfront stay about an hour from wine country. Affordable, relaxed, and the perfect place to ease into the trip. Think pool views, ocean breezes, and sunset beach walks.
๐ Colectivo @colectivosurf
Right across the street from Las Gaviotas. Delicious seafood, snacks, and cocktails to kick off the weekend.
๐๏ธ Day 2: Seafood + Baja Charm
๐ Los Portales @losportalesmexicanrestaurant
Lunch inside what feels like a medieval castle. Incredible ceviche, beautiful atmosphere, and a mezcalita is a must.
๐ Sandraโs, Puerto Nuevo
Hidden beneath the trees on a quiet side street. Some of the best lobster Iโve had and a much more local feel than the larger tourist spots.
๐๏ธ Day 3: Wine + Gastronomy in Valle
๐ Villa Montefiori @vinospaoloni
My standout winery of the trip. Enjoy a tasting on the terrace with the breeze blowing through while sipping Italian varieties like Aglianico and Nebbiolo. Biodynamic farming, thoughtful winemaking, and consistently delicious wines. Valle can be hit-or-miss on quality, but this one is an absolute gem. Book ahead.
๐ Ojรก Valle @ojavalle
A nature-inspired restaurant surrounded by lavender, rosemary, and native plants, with beautiful hut-style seating. More than a mealโitโs an experience. The flautas were unforgettable.
โจ Biggest takeaway: Valle de Guadalupe is best enjoyed slowly. Pair the coast, seafood, and a few intentional winery visits rather than trying to check every winery off the list. Itโs incredibly kid friendly too.
