Recipe Name: Hawaiin Chicken
===========
- prep time: 10-15 minutes
- cook time: 15-20minutes
- Servings: 4
Ingredients:- 1 1/2 lb chicken breast sliced into thin tenders
- 1 clove garlic minced finely
- 1 tsp ginger minced finely
- sea salt, pepper, and turmeric (enough to coat all sides of chicken tenders
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup agave
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce ( I prefer Primal Kitchen)
- 2 tbsp Sriracha
- 3 tbsp fresh pineapple juice
- Fresh pineapple and cilantro to garnish
- Instructions:
- Kids Prep: Kiddo can tenderize the meat and the season all sides with spices. The little ones can also help measure ingredients for the sauce. Using a kid safe knife, the little chef can chop the pineapple and cilantro garnish. They also love using a basting brush to "paint" the Japanese sweet potatoes with olive oil for roasting as a tasty side.
- Adult Prep: Line up all ingredients and tools ready for preparation. While kiddos help with the above steps, mince garlic and ginger. Whisk together the sauce: soy sauce, agave, pineapple juice, Sriracha, barbecue sauce, garlic, ginger. Once the meat is seasoned, grill on medium high heat for 5-7 minutes on each side. Using a basting brush, add sauce to chicken. Garnish with cilantro and pineapple.
- Wine Pairing: Sauvignon Blanc
- Notes: Great with roasted Japapnese sweet potatoes!
