Recipe Name: Asian Meatballs

  • cook time: 20 minutes
  • Servings: 4

    Ingredients:**
    • 2 tbsp olive or coconut oil for frying
    • 1 lb 85/15 organic ground beef
    • 1 tsp minced ginger
    • 1/2 white onion chopped finely and sauteed until softened
    • 2 cloves garlic minced finely
    • season with sea salt & turmeric
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 cup dry quick oats
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • Garnish with fresh squeezed lime, sriracha, and cilantro
  • Instructions:

    • Kids Prep: Assist kiddo in adding all above ingredients in a bowl (minus oil and garnishes). The meat especially molds like play-doh. Have fun making the meatballs together.
    • Adult Prep: All chopping, mincing, and sautee of ginger, garlic, and onion needs to happen in advance of meatball prep. Assist kiddo with measuring ingredients and molding meatballs. Adult pan fries meatballs in oil on medium high heat for 7-10 minutes flipping occassionally. Garnish and serve.
  • Wine Pairing: light to medium bodied red - Pinot Noir

  • Notes: Garnishes make the dish! Add more or less Sriracha depending on desired level of spice. We serve this with roasted broccoli and white rice.
