Doesn’t great wine just make you smile big?! Château Bouscassé from southwest France... more specifically Madiran. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bought this killer value from Costco. Something felt very familiar. And then I remembered my former employer imports it. Of course. My palate hasn’t changed. Fell in love with the portfolio the first year I started working there and I still just so love all of the producers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what if you’re a consumer that isn’t opposed to French wine but you just don’t know how to buy it?? Well, let me guide you. And frankly the 94pt sticker was the last thing I was interested in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Front label ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Depuis 1861. - I love that this place has tradition. That’s a good sign to me ⠀⠀⠀
2. Madiran. A very specific appellation. For $20 and I know where these grapes are from, yes please!⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Back label ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Gives me the breakdown on grapes. Love that. Cab is familiar. Tannat is funky and awesome if done correctly. Often this grape varietal is described as a ‘brambly’ red... how fun is that word btw?
2. Describes a specific producer with heart and soul and whenever I see ‘family’ in the description, I’m psyched. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And if Costco is buying it, they got a good deal and selected from far too many that came knocking on their door.

So it completely delivered and then some. Will 💯 be buying it again! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
